Chain of Command Festive Campaign
« on: December 20, 2013, 09:56:20 AM »
Nothing very festive about it, other than the fact that we are making the most of the hols to play it!  We had the first game yesterday which you can read about here:

The second game is due to start very shortly, so we'll post more then.

This is the game that has me seriously considering WW2 for the first time. I always thought that desert warfare would be a wide expanse of boring, featureless brown table, but now my eyes are open.

Excellent report, well done sir.

Nord

I actually find the desert to be the most interesting environment in which to fight.  You really have to go through the phases and build your plan one block at a time.  The open terrain does make firepower armies like the Germans really tough nuts to crack, but they certainly can be beaten.

Just playing game 2, so more on that later.

I ordered my copy of Chain of Command a couple of days ago... hoping it shows it up early enough to get a game in on holidays!

edit: just realized - that's a sand table! A real live sand table! Huzzah!
