Plastic Clip Kit Tank.
« on: December 23, 2013, 02:13:53 PM »
Whilst shopping for Christmas presents I found this kit at The Works here in the UK. It is called "Kids Fun Factory, Level 2 Clip Kit, British Armoured Tank", it said scale model but not what scale  ??? so I bought it on the off-chance, £2.99 was not much of a loss anyway.

This is the comparison to some 1:43 diecast cars and 28mm minis.

I've ridden in a Leopard II and the Swedish PBV's (APC's) but otherwise not into armour. I was more interested in the possibility of having a representation of a tank on the table than a "true" scale model. But IMHO, after using it in tonight's survival horror game I think it works very well, if it was to be bigger it would look a little bit too bit compared to the other stuff I have. For my purposes and price it'll definitely do the trick.

from the size comparison with the 43rd scale car then i would say it would be about 1/60th as it looks far too small against the car to be anywhere near the right size for large 28mm.
but for the price a real bargain, ideal for those gamers who collect the smaller 28mm models.

May be a bit small, but it looks useful if you're not too worried by scale.

I'll have to have a look in the Bristol shop on my way to the bus later to see if they've got it.

For £2.99 I would buy a few more :D ;D it looks good detail wise and 1:43 is a lot bigger than normal 28mm in any event so would look out of scale.

It would be interesting to see them with some of the resin/metal 1/56th - 1/60th kits about

Agreed, 1:43 is very large for 28mm and those figures are on plastic slotta bases by the look of it. Looks like it would scale fairly well with Eureka or Empress minis. For less than three quid a pop who could complain?

Looks pretty good to me. With modern vehicles I have a very loose definition of "suitable scale" - I'm even using an S&S 20mm MRAP as an APC for a 28mm not-Bush War setup (it's a little narrower than ideal, but the height and length work pretty well.)

Saw that locally, plus a steath bomber which looks more 1/72nd thb. But for 2.99 I might give it a go.

Yeah, it looks to be 20mm-25mm scale to me, but who cares? It looks very funky. I always use 20mm scale airplanes with 28mm stuff because the 'real' size ones look too big!

Yes, anyone wants to pick 3 of those for me? Here in Portugal we don't have those little nice kits ::)
