Chain of Command Campaign Updates
« on: January 01, 2014, 05:07:54 PM »
Happy New Year to everyone.  I hope santa was generous and nobody is too hung-over today!

We've had another games in our Chain of Command campaign today.  We played game three which was a British attack on the German defences at Sheik al Fak, a full report with turn and phase breakdowns is here:

We're having a lot of fun with the campaign.  The British now need to decide whether to consolidate on their red line objective which will allow the Germans time to recover, or whether to push on immediately for the yellow line objective, the Oasis of Khamal.  Hopefully they will consolidate as I haven't built the oasis yet and I mistakenly ordered the palm trees from China!

Hope you enjoy the reports.

Happy new year to you as well.

I like the way you have been able to squize in some "terrain" on an otherwise quite empty battlefield with the ridge. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for your comments.  When I read accounts of war in the desert the thing that stands out for me is that whilst it is flat it is not a billiard table.  What is more the action is usually happening near some feature or other.  So I have tried to represent that in the games we have played.  Even with a minimalist approach you can get some interesting tables.
