I'm with Comsquare, that barbarian is awesome, unfortunately it was limited release and I didn't even know about him until he was long gone.

Was lucky enough to get me one and have to say he's even better in flesh  :D
Top quality, both sculpt-wise and casting.

I keep an eye on the news feeds and had the chance to pick him up when he first came out, but simply could not find a proper use for him anywhere in my armies. I don't quite regret not getting him, but I do wonder if maybe I should have picked one up anyway.

I contacted the sculptor some time ago to see if he had any left, sadly no.
Are you asking for range or single figure?
Mostly just trying to see what others like, which in turn might spur me to get some, so both really.

Ilyad Games was the company, have quite a few minis from their "Lune noir" range, based on the comic with the same name, realy great minis.
But they cost a fortune to get these days  >:(

Raining Frogs Garage it is, a sculptor based in italy.
Was a run of 350, sold out after very short time.
Good luck hunting :)

I have a soft spot for this old Asgard one:

Cheers!

I'm with you 100% on this one. One of the first ever fantasy figures I bought as a teenager in the late 70's/early 80's. I seem to remember he also came with a sword that looked very much like the one on a Frazetta painting.
I was wondering if I could find a pic of it to add to the thread.  :?

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

That BAMF right there. Now that I finally feel confident in my ability to paint him, I can't bloody-well find him  >:(

They list a stock of fourteen. Is the shipping an issue for you?

That's a great mini. I got one of him to turn into an orc hero. Still trying to find a good head to swap though (GW style desn't match that body or my existing orcs).

What about a Gorkamorka ork head? They are significantly smaller than the usual GW orcs/orks.

Shipping from CMON is nearly as much as the mini itself, but I'm used to that here.
I meant that I own the figure already, but he is lost in the lead pile amidst his various unpainted peers  lol I hit a new level with my painting lately and I think I can finally do the figure justice, but now he is MIA. Thanks for the info though.

I've painted a number of the Helsvakt from Red Box Games. Beautiful miniatures and fantastic service, but they don't scale well with most of the current ranges out there.  If I was to start completely over collecting miniatures it'd be Red Box hands down.

My favorite barbaric race has to be Beastmen/Broo though.  I got into miniature gaming through GW and Beastmen and High Elves were my first armies.  They've been my favorite ever since.

It's the massive upper lip and jaw that are the problem, not just the size of the head. Tre Manor's Reaper orc heads were a bit closer to what I was looking for, but the Bones versions are extremely flat with no detail left and the heads are a bit too small and human-ish anyway.

On top of that, I'm trying to find one with an eyepatch and who is grinning. I might be able to add an eyepatch myself without much trouble, but the grin's a tall order. I recently got a Privateer Press elf head (with eyepatch!) that I thought I could sculpt an orc jaw onto, but I think the head turned out to be too tiny (PP is so inconsistent with their proportions and scale!).

The orcs I need to match are Mage Knight 2.0 orcs, which look like this:

If anyone knows of any orc or ogre lines that just look like this, even without naming a specific figure, I might be able to browse some alternate options.

Renegade Miniatures had some orcs that might fit the bill, but I just found out today that they're closed for at least a year.  You might find some on eBay or the like.
