Salute 2014
« on: 19 January 2014, 04:47:46 AM »
OK, my flights are booked.  Who else is going?  What is on your shopping list?  What are you running or what stand will you be selling stuff from?

I'm after some stuff from Crooked Dice, some Perry Miniatures and a look at the Micro Art Steampunk stuff.  A modest list for now but I'm sure it will grow as the big day approaches.  As usual I've pre-paid for extra luggage on the return trip across the pond.

So much for the modest list - just remembered I intend to get a bunch of stuff from North Star too.

I will go if I have the money and feel up to it. Will likely get some Perry Samurai and some Black Hat Ronin wouldn't say no to some Old Glory Samurai or Ashigaru too.

Also want a look at some terrain from Oshiro and 4ground but as with everything else it depends on if I have any cash spare by then.

If all goes according to plan, I'll be there.
Didn't buy a visor last year and regreted it ever since, so that'll be on my shopping list.

Definitely wil be there. Our club is hosting a 1914 participation game - and yes Minervas everywhere :D-

Personally the new Musketeer Arthurians are on my list as well as some still to be released new stuff from Gripping Beast.
Hoping that some new (or re-mastered at least) SCW figures are out by then.

A few sets of Perry Napoleonic figures for a small(ish) local project. All in greatcoats. Some Prussians too and British if I can find them. Already converted some Foundry Franco Prussian War lancers into Napoleonic Red Lancers in greatcoats and capes.

Warfare Miniatures will be the bulk of my purchases this year however.

See if I can find the new Paul Hicks gladiators.

Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done

I'll be there along with Dr De'Ath and Bullshott running a VSF Mars game featuring terrain and buildings by jimbibbly and his Oshiro stuff.

North Star aren't trading this year although there will be a couple of games on that have North Star staff at them. I'm sure you can get what you're after if you let them know in advance. Alternatively Dave Thomas usually has the North Star range (and certainly will if you let him know) alongside the Perry range etc. Thinking about it, Arcane Scenery will also be trading and they sell the North Star stuff too, but again, you'd be better off letting them know in advance.

I know too many people around here :)

Not decided what I'm doing at Salute yet. I'll more than likely be going and have been asked to help on a couple of tables, I might just go as a punter this year though.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Is the background boy there again this year? You'll need to give him a raise after last year! My brother and myself will need to pop over to say hello! ;)

Two years in a row and after a bunch of excellent new releases??  Are they crazy?

Any LAF badges this year or should I wear last years?

With the travel, etc. costs it comes down to Salute or BLAM for me and assuming I get invited back, it will be BLAM for me again this year! I still have never made it to Salute.

I think Nick would rather go as a punter and wander round enjoying the show. Particularly as there will be at least three traders carrying his stuff.
