Does anyone track manufacturers?
« on: January 20, 2014, 01:15:22 PM »
As I start moving some 25 mm games to 15 mm size I realize that one thing I have not come across recently (and foolishly didn't bookmark when I did years ago) was a site that listed manufacturers by common sizes of figures.

So, does anyone know of a web site where there is a list of companies that create 15/18 mm figures?  Ideally it would be broken out into Historical, Fantasy, Science Fiction, VSF, etc. but even just a complete listing of 15 mm miniatures manufacturers would do for a starting point.

The only one that comes to mind, is this site, listing 15mm scifi manufacturers:

Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

The old, original version, of the Wargames Directory forum had a listing of virtually every company I can think of by period, scale, and where manufacturers were based etc, and it was searchable by that too, so one could get up, for example, a list of 15mm Ancients manufacturers, with links/contact details etc. It was an incredibly useful resource.

Unfortunately I don't know what happened to it when Pete closed down the forum, and its successor has moved through a few iterations since then.  I think there are a number of members here who frequent the latest version of the WD though, so maybe worth asking around to see if the listing survived in any form?

This is a useful site for some 15/18mm

and this, although I don't know how comprehensive it is
