Nah, the Deep Ones are working for Black Sun as well. The Allies are on their own with this one  :o

I've started work on some Russians to help the commandos in their fight against Black Sun and their mythos monstrosities. These are all Bolt Action plastics, with the addition of a spare Warhammer Empire banner to add that little bit extra character to the mob. There's another 20 or so Russians left on the painting table that I will get around to at some point to bring it up to a full 500 point BA force, but for now they will be great fodder for Strange Aeons and our RPG sessions

Here's a close up of one of our brave sons of Russia

Well productivity last year was scuppered by moving house. Now things are pretty much unboxed, I've got evenings back for painting! At some point I need to look at making some terrain for better photos though

The painting challenge that I've been undertaking on Blogger called for the creation of a figure (or group) based upon a Sam Peckinpah film. There was also a sub-challenge to create a casualty model... so I figured i'd kill two birds with one stone (pun intended) and make something that even fits with the Russians I just showed you.

Great looking casualty. Cross of Iron is an AWESOME movie!

To my shame, I've not seen it yet. The poster just caught my eye when looking at Peckinpah films for inspiration

The film covers WWII on the Eastern Front from the German point of view. Corporal Schneider is one of my all-time favorite James Coburn roles.

Nothing wrong with a bit of misery in a film :D
It's on the rental list somewhere, so one day...

Thought it was a very good movie (the books are quite good too).  Depressing subject.
