dadlamassu - Thanks for the info on the naming conventions, in the absence of that i had just picked names I thought would be cool if I were naming my own tank. "Jenny the Creme Cracker" - LOL.
I'd like to do some RMASG and some 7th Armored in the future with a higher degree of verisimilitude. Any advice?

22 Armoured Brigade (7th Armoured Div)  Cromwell and Firefly gun tanks and Stuart V light tanks in recce troop

Red 51 - 1 RTR - I have an almost complete listing of the armoured vehicles - PM me if you want a list
Red 52 - 5 RTR - All began with letter "E"

Red 53 - 4 County of London Yeomanry until August 1944 (no confirmed details - photos do not show names)
then replaced by 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards  Regimental HQ - all began with "H" (Hengist, Horsa) Squadrons used "A", "B" and "C"
Red 54 - 1st Battalion Kings Royal Rifle Corps
The Divisional artillery Regiment 5th Regiment Royal Horse Artillery was attached to the brigade



Recce Regiment was 11 Hussars (Cromwell tanks) - do not appear to have used names.

Royal Marines armoured support group used Centaur IV tanks with 95mm howitzers and had azimuth turret markings.



The OP Tanks were Shermans

I love the dirt effect on all your vehicles. Is some of the writing free hand? If it is, it is very neat.

Thanks everyone.  The markings are all decls form Bison, I can't take credit for those, though applying the turret markings takes some patience.

The turret markings were used of for gunnery purposes. The Centaurs are intended for use as fire support during the run in to the beaches, initially firing from landing craft. Later, on land the troop FOO in an OP Sherman would calculate bearing and range and transmit it to the Centaurs.
