New Zealand - Maori Wars
« on: February 03, 2014, 09:24:07 AM »
Ok I got hooked and finally made plunge, so have picked up a pack of each maori yesterday at York and ordered another 3 packs lst night to make up 10 figure units and some characters.

Looking at different Rules, so far

T&T
This very Ground
Muskets and Tomahawks
Lotr variant

On Brits, definately picking up the Empress regulars and RN however was looking at the 1st corps Rifles for Cape wars, anyone got a good comparison as I quite like the campaign look for Militia.

On the whole the 1st Corps figures are a little bit on the wee side. I built up the bases on my Xhosa to make their size a little less obvious, as I intended mixing them in with all sorts of other manufacturers.

Don't have a direct comparison shot of the exact figures you want, but I do have a more general comparison shot that shows a 1st Corps Boer next to an Empress one.

Cheers Plynkes, wow they are small, I didnt remember them being so small having used their Mexican naval chaps for Maximillian. May have to look Perry way :D it was the rough campaign look I was drawn towards ;D

Tiny compared to the Mutineer, but not so bad next to the Empress, I don't think. Personal call, as always, though.

Threadomancy, picked up 24 of their rifles, lovely figures :) and they fit in nicely (a tiny bit shorter and stockier than empress minis) but happy with them as they fit the bill for campaign weary troops :D
