Wow. That is a magnificent force!  :-*

Agreed on that, what's not to like about a square of 28mm figures  :-*
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Wow. That is a magnificent force!  :-*  I was just on the fence about adding some Perry Highlanders to my Warlord British for a romp in the Sudan. This has pushed me over to the buy side with a resounding thud.  lol

Excellent , welcome Along.

This is only half of the final force..mmmmwahhhaha...
Cheers

Deedles sounds like a Dalek with a programming error :)

Looking great, I like the look of an Egyptian force on the table no matter their historical performance. Really nice!

From what I've seen thus far (got to page 2!) you have a really striking and beautiful force!!  8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

What size bases have you got your infantry based on, both for the Mahdist forces and the Europeans?

Is there any particular way you based the Europeans so they could be marching or about face to fight?

Also, what rules are you using?

Sorry if some of these questions have been answered but I'm expressly pressed for time today  :(.

Darrell.

Close order imperials on 15mm frontage , so it's 45x40. Cavalry are 20mm frontage so 40x50mm. camels will be deeper still. I have the guns on Octagonal bases s I prerfer the look and the fit neatly the corner of a square...

No difference in bSing for marching firing ..I tend to prefer at the ready type pose, but will have some marching or firing depending on what lead I have the mountain..

The Mahddists are on 60x40 or 120x40 with a variable number of figures..

Skirmish bases are Warbases sabot still with various numbers of spaces .

They will fit for Black powder , but I will use Carlos Sands of the a Sudan ..I also have another home brew set . No worries about the questions.. And if you want to play in play test over the summer let me know as I am only the other side of Smoggytown...

Thanks for the very comprehensive answers- much appreciated. I've been humming and harring over how to base my Mahdists (who still need a lick of paint!) and the Europeans. What you have suggested seems to make very good sense. Basing is always a bit of an issue with me as I love vignette style basing- thankfully  the Perry /Sudan range is full of amazing extras as well as the more 'run of the mill' types that when combined can make excellent vignettes. This is what I've done with my HYW stuff.

That sounds like a very good plan and one that I think I'll hold you to! Cheers for the invite  8) Please let me know when you plan on playing.

Cheers,
Darrell.
