Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next question, how many hours do you think you have into this project???

And another question, are you now finished or is there more to come???

I have been working on my Sudanese plastics but nowhere near the progress you have made!

Great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be proud of such an achievement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would think it’s a few thousand hours .. I am a fairly quick painter generally . But building the damn Perry plastics consumes time, as does doing conversions and vignette pieces

There are a few more things left that I want to do ..

Another couple of British infantry units ,Probably KOSLI  36 figures .., plus 5th Royal Irish Lancers 24 figs

Some Canadian Voyageurs and boats

Sudanese Infantry unit , 48 figure

Egyptian Gendarmes ,

Bashi-Bazooks

I have about 100 Beja left from the Perry boxes to build and paint

That should about see it done at about 3000 figures  .. well as much as you call any project done .

Then I need someone with very  deep pockets to buy it and I will do Zulu’s!

Way too precious to sell!  Your tracking of this magnificent project inspired me to start my own Sudan collection (though it's only barely over 1000) which I probably will finish painting in 10 years or not.    lol

I painted the British side of the Zule wars and left the hordes to my friends in our gaming club.  Not that you would cheat like they did and reuse some units as married when they were obviously not painted that way.  :D

I just went through this whole thread and all I can say is WOW!!!

Absolutely incredible work. After a break of a couple years I've started working on my 10mm Sudan stuff again and this is a huge inspiration for me to keep at it.

Also, since you did rocket batteries, were they actually used in the 1880's campaigns, as I don't recall reading about them in the Sudan? Or is that just a fun little addition for the heck of it?

Zulus?  We don't need no stinking Zulus!  Bloody murder, that.  At least with the Sudan you get so much more variety - and you have a work in being ready to play.  And it offers more tactical variety than that event further south.  Sell it?  Are you having a dizzy spell?!

 lol

Unless, of course, you really need the funds - but if you really needed the funds you wouldn't be contemplating Zulus, now would you?   ;)

You can have my Madhists or my Zulus when you take them from my cold, dead hands.
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Not wanting to distract you from completing your lovely Sudan range - but might I draw your attention to the recently released Khurasan Zulu range.  Being in 15 mm it might be too small for your tastes but, wow, a nice looking range of figures.  And in the smaller scale, not so punitive on the wallet and allows a broader expanse for your games in the same space.

Nice additions here, by the way.

Yikes!

You are going to sell all those wonderful minis...  :'(

You might regret it one day. Think carefully.

Having sold painted stuff in the past that I came to regret I have to say I agree. Give it some deep thought. :)

The thing is it is so difficult to put a value on a collection like this, and even more difficult to find someone with enough money who values it as much as you do to want to buy it all, rather than ruin it by selling it off piecemeal. If you take into account your time and the love you've put into it the value would be even greater, but people don't look at it from a sentimental point of view if they are buying. If it was mine I'd keep it.
