Really? In my experience, the Sudan is the one place where gamers do take the trouble to have one.
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

An MCC supporter in the village? I didn't spot him on the table on Sunday!
I like the Big Red Bat bases for the fuzzies, but I'm not going to start re-basing mine.

Ah yes , he was ready to defend himself!

Yep , I like the effect of the big bases . I want to rebase some of my smaller bases to bigger ones , but it’s a bit down the to do list
Cheers

More's the pity, Deedles, but you seem unlikely to emigrate to California, northern portion.  Oh, drat.

Since you continue to add to the collection, witness the "Egyptian top up", it may be a moot question, but I shall ask nonetheless: Now that you've had this impressive, excuse me, mightily impressive collection for some time now, how are you finding the sheer volume of troops you've created?  Despite the opportunities for fun inherent in the volume of stuff available, do you ever find it a bit burdensome in ways?  The stowage, the hauling, the setting up, the putting away - or is just too much a passion project to matter?

Regarding the baggage train, yes, often represented but rarely as done here - there's at least three full oodles of them here.  What, you don't know how many there are in an oodle?  Hide thy face, it is a classic military term.  Somewhere.

There be shades of Peter Gilder at use here, methinks.  Well, allegedly, from time to time.

Fifteensaway .. indeed a valid question.i like rotating different sections of it in and out of games.. a lot of the imperials in the latest run out were new .  In terms of troops I h ave done some reorganisation of transportation storage, fewer larger boxes is working better. Terrain storage is the main challenge , but still achievable. The mats for the main playing area make a volume storage difference as roll up into a very small volume .

As for Peter, I gamed with him and the original Sudan Collection back in the day .. it’s always been the inspiration. While I am sure I view it through historic rose tinted glasses as something to aspire too , I think I may have actually just about surpassed it .. at least in IMHO .. but I still think I have more work to do to get it out to the masses .

Deedles, while I never had the opportunity to play with Mr. Gilder, I've drooled - often - over photos of his work and, as far as the troops go, you've surpassed him beyond question, at least in my opinion.  To "lap him" I suppose there would need to be more work on civilians and roaming critters, both domestic and wild (like camels), and perhaps a bit more on the structural front.  Or maybe I've forgotten that you've already covered that and are working on the second lap to gain.

Caution, drooling over magazines damages pages!   :o lol

I admired this game (again) at Partizan.
Here's a few pics I took:

OH, NO!!!  Do I spy a blemish?  On the ground beneath the camel mounted ladies, are those puddles of white as in water or puddles of glue.  Oh, the calumny if it be glue.

Maybe I can forgive you - eventually.   ::)

It's the markings of the mat, I think they are meant to represent stone as they are actually light grey in colour.

Added in a new steamer for the collection. It’s the Sarissa one with a few mods made.

That's turned out very nicely indeed. I might have to get one now you've done such a splendid job, just to keep my Redoubt one company.
