Unfortunately the uniforms for the reconquest itself are a bit different. It's the one lower down the page with a jersey and fez with a khaki cover, and puttees. They don't really look like those Perry figures (I'd really love some quality figures for that era, as they could be used for the Darfur campaign of WW1 at a pinch, I'm not a super fan of any of the ones I've seen).

But they are fine for the period in between Gordon and Omdurman, and nicely painted.

That boat is just 'cricket'.  Yes, I spotted the player onboard.   lol

And the mummy-men look nice - but, wow, 50 figure units, that is a lot to paint.  I've been slogging through my FIW 42-45 figure units and it is taking FOREVER!!!!  Smaller units just seem to paint so much faster.

Indeed ,. They will do for me as post 1885 until someone makes something better for the late Sudanese units I want

:-* :-* :-* Quite the armies you have there. Not sure why all the OG casualties are lined up so well, but hey, you need a lot of them as the British volley fire did take its toll!

i think there are a pair  of figures that depict correctly the Egyptian Infantry for late period..they are from the Old School type Essex Colonial range..(which i like and find also very useful)..they are not in jersey but in service tunic..whick could be OK..not only for distinguishing them from the Sudanese Btgs in jersey

Forgot about those.

Old Glory also do some Egyptians similar which I have

OG also  have some as named Sudanese Infantry which look to be more in the jersey  but I have never seen them in the flesh , and not ordering a big pack to find out!

I bought those, but didn't care for them enough to put any paint on them. When I said that I hadn't seen any I cared earlier it was those ones that were at the front of my mind. They are faithful to the period (1896-98 reconquest), just not very nice figures.

If I can find any of them I'll send you a couple if you want, so you can make your own mind up. But I'd leave 'em be. Once you've grown accustomed to Perry or Copplestone, stuff like this doesn't seem worth the money, however much cheaper they are. But you are more than welcome to any I can dig out of storage.

If you do find any that would be appreciated . I do find OG often paint up better than they look in the raw metal sometime
