My 7th Voyage Minis So Far
« on: February 17, 2014, 02:11:50 PM »
Hi All

Over the past few months I've been playing a lot of 7th Voyage from Crooked Dice, which, being a huge fan of Ray Harryhausen, is the most fun game I've played, probably ever to be honest. I've been slowly building up a collection of minis to have a lot of variety, but also enough to introduce my friends who are mostly mass battles, WHFB/40K players. Hope you like them :)

Hero Cast. Hero, Wise Elder, Enchanting Beauty, and Brother in Arms

Villain Stars. Twisted Outcast and Vile Tyrant

Villain Co-Stars. Brutish Bodyguard, Deadly Assassin and Their Right Hand

Natives

Animals. Giant Lizard, Giant Scorpion, Giant Snake and Camel.

All purpose fighters with swords

Skeleton Warriors and Shadow

Djinn, Snakemen and Harpy

All purpose fighter types with spears

All purpose fighters with bows

Earth Elemental, Centaur, Living Idol

Guardian Beasts

And finally, a few miniatures I've been play testing my Witching Hour homebrew rules with.

Some lovely paintjobs there, Sir!
My particular favourite is the Living Idol, a great effect achieved.
 :-* 8) :-*

7th Voyage does seem to have a lot of possibilities and gives the oppotunity to really scour the market and use those miniatures that you have always wanted but never had a use for.

One question: Where are those Snakemen from?
I have not seen them before.

Wow, those are absolutely fantastic!  Looks like you would host a superlative game, which makes me jealous.

Could you tell where the heroes and the animals are from?  Most of the others I think I can identify, except maybe the fighters in white pants and the Living Idol.

Thanks, and great work.

They're from a board game called Dark World. I got it from a second hand charity shop, and it was just packed with useful bits and pieces.

The hero is from the above Dark World game, the Elder was in a pack called Cairo Citizens, although I can't remember what game or make they were, the brother in arms is an old Citadel pre-slotta miniature and the girl is a mega minis Arabian civilian.

The animals are all mega minis except the lizard which is a D&D monster, think its called a frost salamander? it had 6 legs but I chopped the middle set off so it just had 4. The fighters are Perry Brothers Azerbaijan soldiers and the living idol is also Mega Minis, from the Arabian Magic set.

Once I get the bits I'm working on done, I'll try and get one taken.

What's OGAM? I'm always interested in new games that I can use my existing miniatures for. One of the great things about 7th Voyage was my gaming friends were able to jump in with bit from all over the place, from Haradrian LotR to historical Greek/Egyptian.

Thanks. Some of the minis do suffer from the detail all merging into one. I have a Minotaur from the same set, that needs some heavy converting before I want to paint it because it's thumb joins directly to it's elbow :P

The Elder is a Chaos in Cairo miniature originally by West Wind Miniatures but still available through Old Glory.

Yep. Those are the ones. I'm still working on the other guys from the pack as market civilians.  :)

Great work!  I got these rules for christmas, and have been itching to do some minis up for a few games.  Your work is inspiring!  I also intend to use some LOTR harad and corsairs as generic goons in some of my games, they fit perfectly.
