Olivier,

If you speak to the publisher again you might suggest he try On Military Matters http://onmilitarymatters.com/ for an American stockist. They carry a large selection of European books.

A review of the book with pictures

http://www.planetfigure.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27050

Looks like a great book but it has one major flaw that is becoming all too common these days.  When are publishers going to stop printing double-page spreads across the centre spine! I'm getting fed up with seeing a beautiful painting or scale plan or cutaway (Osprey! >:( ) broken in the middle because it's bound into the spine.  What good is a scale plan if you lose thirty feet of the centre of the ship because you aren't willing to ruin your $50 book to remove it? Either just print the picture at a smaller scale on a single page or use a foldout.  I know it may add to the cost of publishing the book but this is one time where I would not object to the extra expense.  (Although, I must say, I'm one of those people who rarely objects to the cost of a book in the first place!  That's why my book collection is worth between $50-100,000! ;) )

FYI for those in North America, On Military Matters is carrying this beauty according to the latest e-newsletter I received. I'm not sure if they will have it in time for Historicon or not, but I have ordered via their website in the past and the service was excellent. $65 US, but looks to be well worth it.
