That's perfect for the slave Grumio from the TV series "Plebs" set in Rome

Is that the ancient equivalent of Eastenders?  lol

Top notch performance, Eric, I love this version! What head did you use, one of Aventine's?

thanks for the comment.

don't know "Plebs" but i'll get a look when available here  ;)

The head is coming from a Crusader (exact Rui) Velite. As my favorite Westwind heads doesn't fill the job, i remember that one.

This kind of haircut can be usefull for medieval period too ....for page, esquire etc...

 :)

Here are some friends of our new legat.

Ex BTD Pratorians turned into simple legionnaries, the one on the left lost his helmeted head for a bare one

and some leaders (also BTD)

still with our Foundry centurion , now with his stick

Hello all

Well done Eric. :-*
The pretorians have a complete new look.
The leader with the cloak is very nice.
I would sculp some boots or roman sandals. You will see that it transforms the miniature compleetly.
Try the boots. They are easier to do. ;)

Hey Rui

for the boots scuplting : Joker !    :D

if needed, i'll paint them on his bare feet. lol

The officer is a Spartan leader with a swap head.
The bare headed ex pratorian give him his helmeted one. nothing is lost with me.  o_o

Brilliant :) He looks like an assassin! But he definitely needs some sort of shoes.

You can cut off his command stick and give him a knife.

For the shoes, i'll see the option.

Does Rui can give us a  tutorial for sculpting sandals or high roman bosts like this :

Very nice selection of minis and lots of great ideas for conversion. Cool! 8)

I wouldn't use this elaborate sort of sandals on the 'cloaked' fellow, though. It's probably fancy dress alluding to mythology and some such, primarily seen on big statues to impress. There are much simpler (and more realistic) designs you could try first. Here's a picture*, likely way too schematic but you get the idea:

The equestrian boots are perhaps your best bet, suitable for a 'praetorian' officer and fairly easy to sculpt, I guess.

*In case anyone wants a source for that pic, it's nicked from a thread at Roman Army Talk where more information can be found.

i'll try to make you happy (and Rumacara and Prof too) and try a scupting of sandals as soon as it's possible  :D
