shopping in nottingham
« on: February 26, 2014, 07:12:53 PM »
Hi gents
today I was dragged from the depths of the bunker(after basing some 7tv stuff mind..) to go on a shopping trip into darkest nottingham.
we started at north star , buying plastic bases, perrys plastic naps &some sci-fi bitz- the staff were very helpful & friendly making it a very pleasant jaunt.
this was followed by a visit to warlord games and the staff acted in the same manner-  some 'dip' & a jesuit priest added to our stash
then came a visit to foundry , mrs ansell & the boys added to another plesant purchase of more victorian civvys! (I was pleased to see that some of the games tables ii made there in the year 2001 are still in use)
After a visit to g d models , picking up some wills finecast building bitz , we returned to sunny newark
friendly staff all round made this a great day of wargaming spend
back @ the bunker my son handed me 15 diecast cars that he would like painting for the game @ hammerhead on saturday!
Regards
shaun in the bunker
I spent alot of money on strong drink & toy soldiers - the rest I just wasted...

That's the kind of shopping I don't mind. I thought you were going to mention Sainsburys or Waitrose!

Well gents the driver did fall under the Shadow on g w- but I managed to roll a '6' on my saving roll& so the evil empire was bypassed! We bumped into mr perry @nth star & had a nice chat about plastic  ansar conversions, followed by a conversation with fellow LAFer Dean regarding penny bases-all good stuff
see you Sat(with the painted diecasts..)
