Movie: Things to Come
« on: June 06, 2008, 01:57:11 PM »
Bought this movie some time ago and just got around to watching it last night.  Some great pulpy airships and costumes.  It could be the first post-apoc flick.  Filmed in 1936 based on HG Wells.  It has a corps of airmen who are the order that saves civilization.  Neat plot and pretty cool model planes.  Check it out.

I believe H.G. Wells had a lot to say about this movie and relfects a lot of his socialist ideas.  What better tribute to the man who founded our hobby than to pay homage to this movie.  Thank you friends.

My Father's Memories...

Yes, I know this film well.  My father was a teenager when it came out and he would tell me time and again how much it affected him.

It was my father who inspired my love of the Pulp era.

After I learned to fly, I fell in love with the Golden Age of Aviation.  I even created a web site devoted to the period.  From this, I eventually fell into gaming in the pulp era.

Talk about serendipity!

Cheers
