Re: Denizens of Azor preview thread - Histath, Snake-man by John Dennett

Rounding out my summer releases, a set of Pithoi storage jars sculpted digitally by Patrick Keith.

Useful as terrain elements, scenario objectives or treasure markers!

Pithoi were used from the neolithic through the iron age for storing bulk goods like grain, wine, or oil, and in Azor they're used for the same thing.

The Histath of Azor, the snake-men of the plains, tell old legends of once living in stone houses, tall and cool and elegant.  Today they are a nomadic people, following the great herds as they migrate across the land.  Their cities forgotten, their legacy naught but hazy memories and dust.

And yet... here and there, hidden under sand and vine, traces linger.

Who knows what ancient god or demon, sorcerer or king, this statue represents?

Some of you may have seen this in Shortscaledave's thread, but I'm excited to say that I'm adding it to my line of stuff.  It should be finished this summer, cast in resin and for sale the fall.

Three new armored crocodiles by Jason Wiebe!  One is completely new, the other two are conversions of the original sculpt - all four (the three new ones plus the original) are at the caster now.

I've just sent all these figures to the caster!  I'm really looking forward to painting the Histath & the armored crocs.

I'll post something here again when they're all available.

Awesome!

More stuff Ill have to buy and paint.

Will the large lizardman remain a bust or a whole figure, ie arms and legs added?

It's going to remain a bust, a statue or idol.

Heya Lead Adventurers!

All of my summer castings have arrived - the Histath, the Jungle Queen, the pithoi, the armored crocodiles, and some detailed bases, too.  I should have them sorted and for sale by the end of the week!

And, for my winter stuff, the LAF's own Shortscale Dave is making excellent progress with a sphinx-like statue of a Dsungaripterus!  He's got his own thread detailing the sculpt over on the Fantasy boards ( http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=82336.0 ), but here's a pic of it in-progress as of this morning:

I'll post again in a few days when everything is unpacked & sorted and ready to go!

Well, I'm still sorting and unpacking and such, but in the meantime, Andrew Taylor has painted a few of my miniatures.  I'm quite happy with how they turned out!
