Hi Argonor, I'm the sculptor, thanks for the question!  I cant claim any innovation as I have seen other sculptors create similar tools, mainly the genius that is Francagne Didier (hope I spelt that right).  It is particukarly useful for clay and wax like putty as it allows you to scoop out excess putty, shave it down, and cut into without building the putty up either side.  I haven't tried it with green stuff but assume that consistency might not work quite so well in that regard.

I made it with a length of Mandolin String, just folded a nice point in it, glued the lengths either side of an old brush, and epoxied over the top.  It's my first of its type and and was largely due to having moved to sculoting in Beesputty, which has a nice waxy clay type behaviour, ideal for "loop" tools like this one.  A small staple might make a good thing to try instead of mandolin wire, but I am yet to experiment there.

It is not quite good enough yet as the wire is still too big for fine work, and the fast drying epoxy smells of chemicals after I hold it too long (i worry about absorbing it basically) SO..... the next step is to identify some really thin and robust wire, and use some green stuff next time to fix it im place.

Hooe that helps!  It's a really easy tool to make, and I will be making different versions for different types of sculpting in the near future :)

Brian Roe has painted up one of my Entelodonts - the creature was sculpted by Matt Gubser, but Brian designed the base.

There are three different variants of the base, you get one with each Entelodont.

And Dave Cauley's terrain pieces are at the caster now, too.

They're not part of the Kickstarter, the timing just worked out that they're getting cast up at about the same time.  I expect to have them for sale in mid-January.

If anyone wants to pre-order one now, the early bird price on the Doom Serpent idols is $20, and the Pterro-Sphinxes are $25, or $45 for two (and if you want more than two, they'll all be $22.50 each).

If you pledged to the KS and want to add them to your pledge, I can do that, too, to save on shipping (although that will delay delivery by a week or two).

The caster is finished!  2000 plus miniatures are headed my way!

I should be able to start packing all the stuff for the Kickstarter by the end of next week.

I suspect I'll be pulling a couple of 12 hour days to get this all done quickly :)

Something else I'm working on is some actual retail packaging.

Not that I can afford to give a wholesale discount on my stuff, but, I do want to start doing conventions more often, and I think it'd be nice to have something better than ziploc baggies to sell my miniatures in.

I'll probably be buying those clamshell-type cases that I can put a card insert into, as those are easy to pack and fairly versatile.  So, I had a piece of art made by Jeff Lafferty, and I was tinkering with a mock-up of what the card insert will look like.

Keep in mind this is a photo of a print made on my home printer, itself made from a photo of the artwork, so the colors are pretty washed out.  Here's a rough concept for it, literally cut and pasted together:

Huzzah!

It is indeed.

I really need to get some sort of pamphlet or chapbook out detailing the setting.  I wanted to have a decent number of miniatures in production before I put any resources into written material and I think I'm there now, or at least getting close.
