How about a topic for pulp boats too?

Laser works have just released a 28mm Dhow. Looks great and seems quite affordable!

Perfect ship to escape from mercenary Mosquito pilots in, so long as it doesn't burn up first, leaving you adrift on the Red Sea!  ;)

That's a great boat!
I'm glad to see them moving in a Pulpish direction and will have to get that boat ASAP.

Lets keep this thread going.

Minimi have a decent range:

http://www.minimi.co.uk/products.aspx?page=products&subpage=ships

As does Ainsty:

PMC, now run by Caliver, used to have a nice range of Sudanese steam boats, dhows, etc.

I agree. there should be a page for Pulp Boats.

And there are lots to choose from at Grand Manner. (I should note that I was one of the sculptors on this range).

In addition to the one mentioned by phipps, Miniature Building Authority also make their Colonial Riverboat (18" long/item #10625).  Brigade Games makes a Steam Launch (BG-S002), and two U-Boats (BG-S001 and BG-S003).  John Jenkins Designs at one time made a couple of nice boats, one a steam launch and the other a side-wheeler.  I don't know if the Jenkins' boats are still available.  All the boats I mentioned are for 25mm/28mm.

The Old Glory Shiyard](formerly Merrimac Shipyard) has some nice ships suitable for the Pulp Era.

This Tramp Steamer is quite impressive from what I remember from a long-ago Histroricon..

Brigade games does a swell Africa Queen as well as two nice Uboats.

I have the Queen and will post pics tonight.

The catalog page says 'multimedia' but you can download the ship so I would think it is a card model.

Brigade Steam Launch mentioned above;

Quote from: Amalric
Lady Wigglesome hired the tall stranger because he was the only one who would brave the River of Doom. His gruff manner bothered her, but something deep inside her told her she could trust him. She just had to find Jane. How could her best friend from boarding school have been so foolish to venture inland.

He stood warily in the bow of the launch. All his senses told him something was amiss.

The Jungle Girl lept into the boat, ready to strike but something stirred in her memory.

This is the resin steam launch from Brigade games. A nice kit I put together stock, except for replacing the canopy poles with brass tubing and adding a pipe to the boiler. The females are by Foundry I believe, while the Hunter is the excellent RLBPS Allan Quartermain figure.

I didn't attach the canopy, so I could have access to the interior.

Now to go T-Rex hunting!
Enjoy.
Tom

Also, I saw these print and build PDFs Sampans by Mayhem in Paper on RPGnow;

I don't have these but they look promising.

Keepm coming!

The thought occurs that you could buy those paper/PDF sampans and print them out as cutting guides for plastic sheet or something more durable than cardboard.

Mind you, printed card scenery can be surprisingly tough. I have a few pieces that have stood up to years of use!
