A Star Wars Miniatures Battles Project
« on: March 11, 2014, 09:43:52 PM »
hello there, i  owe some of you some material ( pics) -. just want you to share anything involving SWMB Stuff. Here are some of my work.
let's begin with some conversion ideas for the Fringe troops. WEG did great sculps but, i needed to custom some of my gang members/ enforcers/pirates to bring some diversity troughout the existing models.
here you got some custom ideas for the Quarren. The original Quarren ( Visquiss) was concieved as a court member. I need a more though guy, so i made some surgery in order to use a more appropiate hench men body.you'll recognize the Nikto body - also with three fingered hands- i tried a henchmen with a forcepike- minor custom, and other one with the original quarren Blaster pistol, in a more LA gang member posse :P
 Hope you like it!

well, ...as Commander Vyper, i had my own "cold weathered Themed" battleboard. But WEG sculpted hoth themed miniatures only for collector purposes, given the lack of different posses.
i needed to custom A Rebel Field Officer, so i used Solo's body, a casted head copy from a taun taun rider, that i drilled with a dremmel, put into a metal face and completed with mu first putty sculpting expirience :P
Here you got Gen. Solo and ....hummm.....gen. Reekan?? :P

Here are another idea for those that are tired of painting Snowtroopers.
So sorry for the pic quality. ( my camera stinks).
You should recognize parts from different WEG miniatures. Waist to the feet: Snowtrooper. How about the torso??some creative surgery, some putty sculpting on the armor plates for the arms, and here is a Grenade throwing Snowtrooper Squad leader!! ;)

"chewie and i have gotten into pants more heavily guarded than this"

My friend Sergio, S Spaniard SWMB gamer, actually living on China, designed and sent me a present a couple weeks ago. I felt i had to work on it and send him a feedback just to see if he were as fond as i was. still more weathering to do. but it looks appropiate :) ( i hope so) i didn't dare to put more shovelled snow on the top, because of the difference with tha snow flakes ( used on the battle board)....i don't how how to handle it.....any idea?

here are some more customs, this tme for the Fringe faction. using a 90's pulp mini ( i think they're Ral Partha) i tried to convert it to a Slaver Twi'lek ( you should sorry me for such sculpting, i think it was my 1st experience with putty), another copy was used to make a crossing with a Rodian ( greedo) looking for a rodian henchman.

Imperial command Chariot. The usual model labels produce the more destacable vehicles from SW Universe. But all the material WEG launched for the RPG offered lots of vehicles that deserves to be put in a battlefield. this one was conceived to bring imperial officers through the battlefield leading the troops or to bring them  to report "in person" the situation.
3d printed, sanded, puttied, and bit-completed with photo-etched pieces looking for a final good looking.
be kind  :P as it is one of my 1st works with airbrushes, and testing weathering tecniques.
Also compiling data for the next project: Rebel Freerunner. if anyone'd be interested it'd be interesting in order to reduce such expensive costs. ( i mean, it worths ordering three or four models rather than ordering one by one). free will ;)
HOpe you like it!

nope. we looked it on shapeways but we didn't find it. we arranged the plans and ordered the design at first, then the printing.

What sort of size, and costs, for the Freerunner do you think it'll end up being? Assuming you have four others step up?

Besides SW gaming, like many SW designs, it has plenty of VSF possibility, as well.
