finished my last classic series Daleks...

nothing exciting really, in one of the traditional colour schemes for the early/renegae Daleks - I wanted the dark grey of the Genesis of the Daleks colour scheme, but that was annoyingly hard to then balance with black detailing, so the shading may not be as stark as I tried to distinguish between the two colours... anyhoo, these are mainly a prelude to a conversion I'm painting up at the moment...

choice of Black Dalek as command or for a Day of the Daleks vibe, the Gold Dalek...

couple of suicide Daleks - I could have gone for the red/yellow explosives from the series, I just prefer the stark red - especially from a distance...

and a couple of Daleks with flame units - plungers replaced with guns from Heresy's Sci-Fi Gun sprue with the sight and grip removed (oddly when I bought a load of the guns for conversions, the one I figured I never use was the retro raygun one and yet that has been the most useful)... I like the look and harks back to some classic jungle clearances...

Very Nice

Saw some cool Daleks entered in a painting competition at a convention in the Pacific Northwest in May. Apparently the Daleks are alive and well.

No way, they've got over that one. To maintain the balance of power I've heard that staircases have evolved into an aggressive flying escalator form which attack the Daleks using a stream of nanosteps .

I've got a small band of those Daleks, and they're a very prized possession, although I've only gotten round to painting just one.

NEVER HAPPENED!

ahem... they always could do stairs (you can't tell I get annoyed at how often I have to explain this one can you?)... Dalek Invasion of Earth had a shot of a Dalek at the top of the Embankment steps, cut to something else, then the Dalek was at the bottom of the steps... Revelation of the Daleks had Daleks again at the top of some stairs and then a cut later at the bottom, not to mention it had a very bad CGI overlay of a hovering Dalek in the catacombs and a even worse hovering Davros.... Remembrance of the Daleks... an Imperial Dalek hovered up the stairs! in front of the Doctor! on camera! the new series had a flipping stairwell! why does everyone go on about the damn stairs!

yeah, I need to get some Draconians actually... may have to brave an order and see how the moulds are bearing up...

Obviously they are confusing the Daleks with ED-209. It´s got three machine guns to blast executives and other lowlifes to smithereens, but a staircase makes him do the "Deliverance".

Lovely work! I really like the "eyes", which somehow make them look a bit funny/astounded.
