New Renedra Desert building
« on: March 19, 2014, 11:29:47 AM »
Hope this is in the right place, if not can a mod move it please.

Lovely painted example (not my work) of the fantastic new plastic building from Renedra. Looks like a great kit, I can think of loads of uses for this one! This one is out in April, not sure of the price yet.

Loads more pictures on the original thread:

No news on price as far as I'm aware. Given how small the other buildings were I'm cautiously optimistic looking at the linked pics but prepared to be disappointed.
So many projects..... so little time.......

there is serious field of competitors to be beaten here and it won't be in the modelling discipline they are going to score....
surely in the weight and mass production ones...

If that is more than $5, it isn't worth it. Hate to say, but not very impressed. :?

No word on pricing as yet, though it is 3 sprues so I can't see it less than £18.

I think it's USP will be the fact that it is plastic and in multi parts so very versatile and easy to modify, and to use more than one kit to make something bigger. Like the Warlord games ruined farm house, not the most amazing model but more than the sum of its parts in usefulness.

yeah, we had this topic twice before, so no point repeating it.
We'll see what it costs

Eighteen quid would buy a lot of foam core/ balsa sheet/ cork tiling and polyfilla and I'm not convinced this actually represents an advance in quality over what can be produced using a shoebox.

I have the Renedra church, farmhouse, and barn and I like them quite a bit. I think they're a good value for money, mainly because of the shingles :)

This building I don't think I'll get, I can make a dozen for the money it will take to buy one plastic.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

yeah, that was the other thing...
easiest building anyone without opposable thumbs can make.

we should probably start a competition, with different categories, like innovation, costs, weirdness, I don't know

which is compulsory for every member. Seriously, this GW-style money making has to stop somewhere  :D
we need the money to pay the talented sculptors who made the other, wooden plastic buildings

Only thing you need to buy is glue and paint.
then take a knife, go through the garbage until you find some foampackage, cut it to shape, cover it in glue, go to the next playground, roll it through sand, stick some small twigs in equal distances into it and paint it.

will probably look better than that one...

no, I am joking of course
prime product, worth it's money...

Hi folks : )
First ever post here!
Cheers for the compliment on the painting mike!
I'm not averse to building models out of 'stuff'
But do value this one...It would take me time to get the
Texture in the walls especially the dome. The stairs are handy too. The jugs and plate help too.
Maybe not every bodies cup of tea but it does 'work'.
I think I will use it to supplement my st elmo building
Will check on price. Salute will bring multi buy deals for sure.
Cheers : )

The dome is good and the stairs. The jugs and plate help too.

That makes it so much better.
Everyone's happy to pay for jugs :~}

oh, the jugs are part of it? well, that changes the deal totally.
Now they even can sell the jug sprue separately   ;)

well, they could make it an accessory to the muslim civilian set
