bashi bazouks !!
« on: July 01, 2008, 11:47:37 AM »
I just saw the new release pics from the Perries and thought it may excite a few people. Beautiful sculpts and so useful in a whole range of campaign periods. Nice to get a bit of colour on the colonial wargames table. Their cavalry are great too.

cheers

Yes, I'm getting several packs of these.

I'm getting bored painting British khaki and Beja tribesmen. These should spice things up a bit  :D

Do you think some of these could pass as Barbary pirates - they are so nice!

Please! Someone give me an excuse to buy these. I don't do Sudan but I'm sure they could be put to other uses.

Good find!

Owch, my wallet just pinched me!

Lovely group of Balkan fighters...

Alas, I have minis and minis to paint, likkle pewter orfings really.

Tempting! Yes, indeed!

I could see them as Barbary pirates, colorful conscripts, impressed seamen.

Temple guards, caravan troops, and all sorts of Pulp expeditions.

Say,
Aren't these the same costumes as were worn by the Greek Mercenaries hired by the US Marines when the fought it out with the Algerian Corsairs.  You know, all that "Shores of Tripoli" stuff.
Perhaps another time/period in which to use the figures.
I already have some, not many, but some, mounted figures to use for...
Well, I have some of the mounted figures.  Bimbashi Lewis probably has all the infantry versions of this figure line.
