Here are some pics of a generic Greek/Albanian for the GWI which I had made for me with the aim of using it to pad out The Perry`s Bashis

not bad at all!

The rifles are a little more modern! Usually during GWI they used the oriental long rifles

I take on board your comment and will pass it back to the sculptor/manufacturer,  I will say that whilst I accept the comment , the picture that was used was of a flintlock rifle of Greek origin from the DWI. The figure was designed for my use although he will be available commercialy by the end of April.

He has a great face. Excellent miniature. I am currently planning an Ottoman army for the Napoleonic Wars - your recent posts have been a great help.

The Perry Bashi-Bazouks might be useful:

There are more cavalry in the range......

That is a very nice figure you have got yourself. Looking forward to seeing the next figure(are you basing it on the main standing figure or the kneeling firer?). When you first started asking for information about the Greek Wars Of Independence I thought you were on a hiding to nothing, but the more questions you have asked and the more information you have unearthed has made this a very interesting project to follow.
I wish you joy with this project and as you have now got me hooked I'll follow it with great interest.

Thank you for the comments, in my minds eye there will be a charging figure as well as a kneeling one. I plan that each fig will be different but compatible for both sides. This is a long term project and I am still at the planning stage. I am aware someone is planning a detailed range but no info as to whom or timescale.7
My project will be based around the battle ofcPeta 1822

When I have the first castings in my hands I will let everyone know who sculpted him and where you can purchase the castings, he will be commercially available.  I am only the sponsor of the figure.

Didn't Foundry make some Greek volunteers in their Crimean War range? Actually, I'm sure they did but they don't seem to be on their new website. They were fairly uniform IIRc, in that nightcap, waistcoat and party frock/ tutu affair. Not sure if the traditional Greek transvestite look was common in 1821 but they might be worth tracking down to add yet more variety.
