Africa cross country
« on: July 04, 2008, 09:22:45 AM »
I've just read the latest copy of the Spiegel magazine. There was an article about a German explorer who drove from west to east across Africa in 1907. Unfortunately I have no scanner to post the pictures but maybe one of you could post them...

His name was Paul Graetz. It took him 630 days to cross the continent. I haven't got the "Spiegel" but you can find information and photos here (German):

Fascinating read!

Seems the treks did him little harm. I think he lived until 1968.

Good Explorer genes I reckon.

Thanks for the linkage!
