The Battle of Keren at Salute 2014
« on: April 13, 2014, 09:18:27 AM »
Yesterday, James M, James W, Tom, Steve, John, Matt, Martin and myself put on our rather vertiginous Battle of Keren 1941 game at Salute.

I've done a blog update with loads of commentary and photos over on Scrivsland

A truly awesome game.  Really remarkable scenery, very ingenious and visually incredibly dramatic.  After lots of teaser photos it was fantastic to see the real thing unveiled.

Also really nice to meet you in the flesh after following your blog for so long.

Cheers

It was a great day, met some really interesting folk. I enjoyed being part of the group and am full of admiration at the planning that took place beforehand.

The "Hill" was outstanding and some of the photographs I've seen are truly evocative. Well done to all involved.

Great photos lad, thank you for posting these (I took none due to dropping my good camera on the patio last week.)  Some brilliant shots up the mountain.

And cheers to Tom for the tasty cake, definitely one of the highlights of the day for me! :)

This was my favourite historical game of Salute 2014! Fantastic effort, well done! I loved the maquette of the terrain, a great visual aid for this series of battles I may try to make one of those myself!
