Indeed. Lovely brushwork. A little bird tells me there maybe some additions to the Eureka Portuguese range coming later this year. Exactly what, I don’t know.

Please pardon my butting in to this nice thread, but
can anyone tell me how Eureka size up?
I have heard that they are 'small' 28mm.
I want to do 1960's Brits & was considering Eureka's Aden range,
maybe with head swaps, & wondered how big/small they are.

Small compared to what? About the same height as TAG but not as beefy. Slighter shorter than Empress.

Cracking stuff, Ash! Makes me want to rewatch Wild Geese again, despite the ending  :'(.

One question though, if you don't mind, what do you use for basing? Any special product or just sand as in one picture?

Either way, lovely work, I shall be watching!  :-*

Thanks carlos.
My mate Vodkafan is refurbishing some old military Dinky toys,
and I want some infantry to go with them.
He reckons the vehicles are about 1/60th, which makes the likes of Britannia too big.

@ has.been: I pulled these from the storage box.

L-R  Under Fire,                Eureka,               Eureka,        Black Cat Bases,           Britannia,            Mongrel,             Empress

@ Carlos : I wonder if there will be an MG42 or whatever it was rebadged as.

@ FreakyFenton: For basing I use various stuff; normally try to take the metal base shape off with some sort of putty. then PVA and dip in sand, then paint , more PVA then I have what's left of a jar I filled with dirt in Zimbabwe back in the 80's that I rediscovered in old parental abode. It's very fine, smaller than sand. I then quite often darken it a touch with a wash.

Done with these as well.

Picked up a pack of the 1950's French from Empress, also got the Bigeard cap heads. thought they might look the part for mercenary types; used a couple of the helmet heads on a couple of spare Eureka RAR and there is even a small pack from UnderFire...

Looking at a load of reference pics I wasn't sure whether to go with a light green or tan base colour to the camo, so have ended up going for a bit of a mixed bag of both

I'll back you up on that. The lizard camo scheme seems to be very varied. The colours also changed with different runs. Which opened up the same question as with the, how does German fieldgrey look theme.

Here's the first three, probably do with a bit of tweeking; already spotted that I missed hitting the bottom lip with a bit of brick red...

All got tan base on the jackets, center and right side have green base on the trousers
