It's going to be fun taking these guys on :)

The colour scheme(s) on the pirates is exceptional. Great stuff.

I'm painting a Pirate crew that are going to be competing against Cheetors crew (who I believe are likely to be Orks)

Almost 100% certainly going to be Orks. It will be a few weeks before I get to painting them though.

I used to have those two pirates. Foolishly sold them off long ago. You've given them an eye-catching paint-job.

Hey Colin, those laser cut things in the background... where are they from? As I'm just getting (back, after nearly 2 decades and a complete purge) into scifi I'm considering all options to quickly get a small table playable.

And, as always, the salty spacemen have me timbers a-shivering!

Love the new crew members.
I shall be coming back to this thread when I do my own, Olly Flavored, pirates.

He is from the Lead Adventure Miniatures, Heroes and Villains line:

A wonderful sculpt, just the right amount of detail.

Mason is of course correct! Frank "Eraser" von Stein! Great figure!
And in answer to Phreed's question, the mdf stuff is all by Sarissa. Nice stuff. I went for one of the bundle offers (scroll down the page) http://www.sarissa-precision.co.uk/store/system8/
Sprayed black, a couple of squirts of gray/green/brown - whatever I had sitting about - and then attacked with two shades of rust pigment. Easy!

Perfect! that is a great figure...I thought it looked like a Ratnik face...I'll have to pick him up when I get the chance.

Finished up my pirates bringing me up to 12
need to finish four more figures for the game and then I can move on to the confrontation gangs.
That is of course if I don't get distracted by doing a load of scenery, apart from ripping off Matakishi (all credit to him!), I've also started to convert my sarissa centre point so that i can install a bar!

and I've been working on buildings for 7TV/AFoKF/dredd games as well

Nice all around!
Lovely Old School GW and some moderns mixed in as well.
I used to own a few of those old fellows.
Thanks for the heads up!

My pirates are all finished and ready to take on Cheetors Skallywags ate BOYL14.

I've also pretty much finished the bar that'll be part of the Ferrograd board foe the event.
