Hello from Anchorage Alaska, USA.
« on: July 10, 2008, 01:35:10 PM »
I must admit to lurking and enjoying the site for a long time now, so I thought I'd take the plunge and sign up. Well it wasn't painful at all :).

I used to be an avid gamer of pretty much anything from the old Adeptus Titanicus, 2mm Ancients (quick easy paint jobs on the little guys and off to battle), Renegade Legion, 15mm Nappies and Battletech. But after moving from the UK to the frozen north I haven't really had the time or the inclination to venture out for a game when it's 25 below and snowing outside, SO now I devote my free time to mini painting and like my gaming I have an eclectic collection of minis.

I think I'm going to have to add a Prof figure to my collection.

Malc.

Nice to see you.  I was the same, but this site sucks you in like a religious cult.  Maybe, that is the whole point, I must start looking for mutations. ;)

Hi Sendak

"Maybe you can find some gamers in your new home?

There is a local games store a few blocks from my house but from what I can see they play mainly CCG's and have a small section for minis. They are Okay for paints but all my minis are bought off the net.

The reason for such a huge move was my wife (a native of St Louis, working for the airlines in Anchorage) had moved with me back to the UK but after 8 months she got homesick so we came back here. :)

Why are you looking at my third eye like that, joras?

Welcome, Invicta! Perhaps you can give us a few hints on how to paint those new HLBSC White North minis.

 :)

Maybe a convincing congenial gamer (such as yourself) could scare up a miniatures game?

Become an iconoclast at the local shop. Heh.

Good luck in any case.
