SCW figure size comparison pics
« on: May 03, 2014, 10:50:49 AM »
Morning gents,
With the re-release of the old FofA range under the new banner of Burns Miniatures, I thought it might prove useful to post some comparison pics, so you can see if they match up with the Empress (Anglian) figures, and, I took the liberty to add a couple of other manufacturers to the line up, for your consideration

From LtoR, Artizan partisan, Musketeer VBCW, Musketeer VBCW, FofA/Burns, FofA/Burns, Empress, Empress, and a converted Perry Italian

To my eye, they all fit perfectly well with each other, yes there are variations, but no so extreme that they would cause an issue.

FofA/Burns with Empress

FofA/Burns Miliciano with Empress

FofA/Burns Legionario with Empress Miliciano

The FofA/Burns miniatures are a few years old now, but are still perfectly good, yes the faces are not brilliant, but, you can always do a little bit of surgery, and replace them with some Empress ones.
In fact, I shall spoil you all, and undertake some surgery on the two figures in the pictures!!!! ;)

Pics later folks  :D

...very useful. Thanks.

Do you have any of the Nationalist or 5th Regiment figures to see.

Mr Rif Raf really needs to get some raw lead pics up on his website so we can see what differences there are. There are quite a few minis not covered by other manufacturers that might be worth getting...but I want to see first.

Oh, by the way, do you have by chance any comparison shot sod the Rif Raf Riffian figures for size comparison with Empress?

Cheers

Happy W

I've only got Foreign Legion and Militia figures, decided to start Anglian because the FofA range had stalled, and there were no decent International Brigade figures around. IIRC, the other models are just variation on the basic figure dollies, but were given new heads, so they should fit in OK.
Not got any of the Rif Raf figures, but seem to recall that they were very slim, and did not mix well with my Anglian(Empress) stuff. I do believe that Askari Miniatures are quite compatable, and they do some Legionarios that would serve purpose, I've also swapped heads on some Artizan Goumier figures, to add a bit of variety to my Regulares units.
