Painted VSF Brits Ironcladman and Steam Tank; Group shot
« on: May 06, 2014, 10:27:16 PM »
Some of these have been posted before but I recently finished painting the rest of the section, so took a quick group shot. These are finished except for some static grass on a couple of the figures' bases. Criticism welcomed.  :)

Cracking stuff - I think we need a close shot of the tank to fully appreciate the paint job.

My only suggestion would be to tone down the green on the edge of the bases, maybe go with a more subtle brown/sand like the colours you've used on the top.  I realise basing is a personal preference; I don't like the slotta 'plinth' style bases myself, I like my troops to blend with the table as much as possible which is why I use coins for bases.

Keep them coming!

Many thanks. I am painting another of the tanks so I will post some close ups then (I should also have received a tripod for my camera by then, which will help - hopefully! - as the ones I attempted now were fairly blurry, sadly).

I realise the bases are not to everyone's taste but I intend these to be used either on Venus or in an England Invaded scenario, so green edges is a must. I may try a more subdued shade, though. I came into the hobby through 40K and Games Workshop in the mid-90s though, so I do have a thing for bright green slotta bases......

Thanks for the kind comments. It is very encouraging in terms of getting more done!  :)

I thought they might end up as company identifiers...

Can't think of a single suggestion; pretty sure I've already added you to my list of hated competence. Bask in my baleful abhorrence.  ;)

I know Armorcast had similar, and I'm always getting them confused.

Many thanks. And, the green bases is a sickness, but I just can't seem to stop!

It is certainly the Eureka Light Steam Charger. A nice and cheap little resin model. I am in Australia though, so shipping is not too bad, but I think Eureka have distributors in the UK and the USA also.

As said, better pics of the tank, and her sister, in a week or two.

I've never heard a complaint on shippage to the US; while not quite matching Jon Tuffley's cross-briny wormhole, speedy delivery and reasonable rates on the goods appear to be a hallmark of Nik and crew.

That said, everybody producing material for sale have interesting comments about trans-border hurdles they have to jump. So far, of late, Royal Mail seems to be getting the most, no matter which direction the items are taking.
