I like both of these entries. Shields are obviously well done, but there are nice touches like the wood of the AK stock on the others too.

I recognise the post apocs as Ratnik models. Are the top ones Perry?

Nice entry Curt. As pointed out about, the details on the AKs, and the figs in general are great. I also think the goggles are particularly well done! That terrain is great as well.

Those top ones are indeed Perry 100 year war figures.

Also, incidentally, the banner is also freehand :)

Thanks

I am a big fan of people who take the trouble to paint their own shields and banners. Brilliant job on these Neldoreth.

Curt, those are excellently done post-apoc characters. Unfortunately, the artistry of Neldoreth's freehand is very hard to ignore  :(

But well done to both of you. A great pair of LPL teams.

Bloody hell Neldoreth. Give everyone else half a chance!

Curt, it's lovely work you've done there, but I can't see anyone beating those shields!
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Owch! This year I seem to have the lousy luck of always getting matched up against A-list brushmeisters.  lol

Beautiful work Neldoreth! Those shields are the absolute bomb.

When I grow up, I want to be able to paint shields as well as Joe does...

Unfortunately, I show no signs of growing up...!  lol 8)

Seriously, I feel for you Curt. Sometimes it works out that way...you take extra time and do your extra best and you bump headlong into a Frank, Dr. Matthias, Neldoreth, Capt. Blood, Prof. Witchheimer...you name it! Sooooo much talent in this forum. But hey, think of it this way: While they're kicking our butt, they're giving us free lessons...who's the winner, now? Boo-YAH!

Shields are nicely done, but if you look at the whole, then I think Curt nailed it.
