Too dark? All the same?  Well, no, not in my book.  I love the look of the venting black smoke, spot on accurate - I live near a world class rail museum and have often seen exactly such belching out of smokestacks of iron horses.  As to the sameness, well, there are four different uniforms in evidence at a quick glance - and then there is this, imagine men in uniform being, well, uniform!  But to each there own.  And I'm not telling who I voted for, no sir.

Beautiful work Richard! Not only are the miniatures painted to perfect, also the rails and the wagon looks stunning. Good luck for you!

Thanks all for the comments. It is indeed a Turkey shootout!

Good luck to you too Frank. Loser buys the bier mit waldmeister next time I am in Deutschland! (I did enjoy that green beer ;))

Truthfully, I'm amazed to be clinging on so far. I was fully expecting to get roundly walloped by Frank's brilliant cinematic scene, but the voting has been swirling around like a dust devil! At one point yesterday I was 12 votes behind. I looked an hour later, I was 2 votes ahead. Back from the dead! Now, as I write, I'm 16 votes behind again, and Frank is pulling away strongly. It's a suitably nail-biting finish. Enjoy! 8)

Excellent entries guys, suitable final contest for sure! You both brought out some exceptionally great work on a subject that I am very fond of myself! Honestly, I thought that the Arab Revolt wouldn't be the most popular WWI-era setting, but man was I wrong!

Excellent guys, good luck to you both!

You wait all day for a Turkish train to come along and then two turn up together.  ;)

I expected this one to be tight, but this is like trying to slice a strand of hair with a razor blade. Beautiful job both of you!

Brilliant work! Another almost impossible choice!!!!! Nice to see the Hejaz railway is popular today! The subject matter is fascinating from many angles of course and what happened then still impacts us today in the Middle-East.
