It looks really good, its also great to see the step by step photos - it really helps show how to go about this kind of scratch build. The addition of the plaster is very effective, and its great to see it step by step.

When you mention plaster wash - is this watered down polyfilla, or plaster of paris, or something else?

It's for me and I think it's coming on bloomin' great!!!

Which reminds me, Now I'm back from my holidays I must slap some dip on the dozen base coated Sikhs, dozen base coated Gurkhas and finish base coating the next 20 Pathans so there's someone to fight over it when it's all finished. :D

That's always a good sign  :)

Well, all the lower stonework is done, now to move onto the upper story. I've got a resin brick sheet I'm going to use as it'll be easier than blue foam. I'll coat it in a filler/pva/water mix so the texture will fit better with the lower floor  :)

James,

I'll be watching this thread with great interest!  8)

What mix did you use for the plaster work mate?

And in what proportions?

Darrell.

He's getting quite good at this, do you think he has had much practice?

Dunno.....  ;) :)

Thanks chaps  :)

It was a test to see if I was happy with the process as a whole  :)

I'm afraid to say that I just imbibed at uni and never really made anything  ;D

The bottom floor is just about done now and the groundwork has been started  :)

I'll finish the groundwork tonight and hopefully make a start on the upper floor.

cheers
