I just see that you should smoothen the edges of your base. It looks better on the tabletop. Now it will look like a boardwalk or a step.
Everything else is luvely.

Ahhhhh....thanks for enlightening me.... Chamfering is the word  :)

The bricks aren't that red in real life  :? I can certainly tone them down though, I though a bit of contrast might be nice  :)

For some reason I completely missed chamfering the base  ::) it can still be done though  :D

Well, after some time and agonising over which route to take for the upper floor (some of which were started and abandoned) I've finally started  :D

The end is in sight...

The blue foam does tend to gather the light somewhat making photos tricky (especially to a numpty like me  :) ).

The dark strip between the foam bricks and existing stone work is lithographic tape and the first layer of wood glue won't stick to it so it will enable the brick upper story to be removeable but hopefully keep the general shape of the top of the stone.

cheers

James

Very clever and looks great too.

But that is a lot of work there to make that removable.

But that is a lot of work there to make that removable.

Kind of, I suppose most of the work went into choosing the right bricks.

When it's done it'll get a thin coat of glue and filler to help seal it and when that's dry it'll be really sturdy  :)

Worth it in the end I think  ;)

cheers

But the fact that it can be made removable increases it's flexibility and in my head, it's value. I like it.

Last post before the working week destroys my hobby time again  lol

The upper floor is about half way there and I'll add a couple of windows soon.

I tentatively tried to remove the upper from the lower and the little amount of corner I got up looked promising. It won't be removed until the coat of filler/glue/water has gone on and had lots of time to dry, although in this heat that should be a couple of hours    lol

cheers

I've heard about this, it's the wizard's tower, right? That's just a story though isn't it? I mean the photo looks real enough but it's an obvious fake, you can see it's just a guy in a wizard's tower suit.

 ;D

The watchtower is looking great though.

Got the upper floor construction done. There's a bit of a slope for the roof that will be made from a pile of bristles I got from Japan (fine bamboo I think).

Looking good, James.  :-*

I like the very uneven way it's built. Gives it lots of character.

But won't something that size count towards the occupancy rate?

The stonework is really quite superb. It looks like you've individualy lain each block! (you haven't have you?  :D). I'm looking forward to seeing this painted.
