Still struggling with colours for the skin and now also with my matt varhish, the last delivery of Army Painter turned out to be a disaster  :( whatever I try it's getting glossy so no Army Painter for me any more. But I didn't want to leave that fine party here so you're getting to see the glittering guy.

No.15 - The Tutsi

Ivory certainly, ain't that why one goes TO Africa?

Well, after looking at the marvelous figure in question again, they might just BE pearl.
Something about a pompous feller inna fez, just screams "procurer" to me...

This is all inspiring work folks!!

My Hinterland askaris are calling me, urgently.

Who will be the first to recruit one of those she-devils for this expedition?

Bloody awesome so far but for fuck sake slow down lads I'm up to my neck in Comanches at the moment.

I don't suppose Plynkes will stretch to 19th Century American colonialism  :D

You can paint one Colonial figure in between.  You could stop at just one I'm sure. What could possibly go wrong?  >:D

You can have any American Colonialism that isn't already under the aegis of the Old West board, such as the annexation of Hawaii, and I suppose the Banana wars would count too. I guess the Spanish-American War also fits, as it was all about the transfer of a bunch of colonies from one Imperial Power to another, when you look it at (whatever the mighty press barons of the time might have said).

But I'm afraid Comanche raiders are firmly within the Old West's grasp. These are the arbitrary and artificial boundaries we have to live with, I'm afraid.  ;)

I feel the need to participate, albeit by proxy.   ;)

I'll post on behalf of Ady McWalter, an infrequent visitor to these shores. The expedition is in need of a 2nd Anglo Afghan War mountain gun team ...

I've been waiting for this one to come around  :D  This got me thinking about painting some Zulus that are hiding around here somewhere.  Here is my Schutztruppe sent scouting ahead of the main troop.
