Hurrah! Something to ride on. That's grand, as I didn't want to walk all the way.

Love the expedition - count me in  -

Some natives are primed and ready for paint...

but in the meantime Basil would have loved this thread if he had been around - he was always partial to the odd explorer

Just to verify, this would be for purely historical figures?  Stuff that would be on the Colonial boards, as opposed to the VSF boards?
Remember, remember, the Dalek December
With Paris in ruins and London in ember
In times of the future when fears are abating
Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…

Pretty much. Fictional characters are okay, and Tarzan and Allan Quatermain would be fine (he had plenty of mundane, historical-ish adventures). But save the steam walkers, Martians and lost white tribes for when the VSF club gets its turn.

Don't worry, the VSF fans will get their chance. Their day will come.  :)

Just spotted this thread. LOVELY work so far gents. The opening Zulu is a particular dandy, as is the prof's wonderful rhino!  :-*

This one was my first figure after a year or so of not painting at all. A sort of a warm-up to hone my skills in preparation for the Zulu we saw earlier. Wasn't entirely satisfied with him, but not bad for a first go back at it, and I think he still deserves a place on the expedition...

Unlikely. The main reason I haven't painted for so long is that I'm just not really into tabletop wargaming any more. My gang's gaming nights have been taken up with pen-and-paper roleplaying instead for the past couple of years (set in the 40K universe, of all places!  :o).

I think 2011 was the last time I played a war game. Never say never, but I don't see any prospect of it at the moment.
