It's been a while since I painted any modern Zombies ( damned VSF.... Weird War.....etc) and I've had the Zombies from Griffin sat on my work bench staring at me for ages.
I watched Diary of the Dead the other day and it got me motivated to get some done.
I decided to steer away from traditional green ( I'm a huge "Original" Dawn of the Dead fan) and go all-out rotten and bloody.
Hope you like them!  :D

Nicely done! I've always wondered, though, why wounded Zombies always bleed bright red! Blood needs oxygen in it to turn red and, if you're not breathing, no oxygen! Coagulated blood is usually a deep red-brown, if not nearly black.  I'll admit though, that your representation is nicely subdued and, as a result, looks more realistic than most.

Disgusting - well done!
"One of My Men Became Restless" focuses on 15mm Horse & Musket periods and 25mm Horse & Musket, Fantasy, Horror and Victorian everything! Occasionally there'll be stuff of related interest but it's mostly a painters blog.  See it all here: http://flashman14.blogspot.com/

The camera flash has picked the blood up brighter than it looks in natural light. It's actually GW "Dark Flesh" which is a dark red/brown ( normal red does look far too healthy!!!!)

BTW: Fritzy, who said your character has a gun???? :D

The hearts came out really well and I thought you were joking when you asked 'hearts or polka dots'.  great choice and execution.
