How Not to Destroy a Gateway
« on: June 16, 2014, 02:24:32 AM »
So, knowing my pulp action players soooo well, they are confronted with a scenario taken from Hellboy 1, The Portal that Time Forgot, is being powered up by the Thuule Society with modern technology and ancient magic's.

Its standing on a flat plain of dirty crusted snow and gravel. Our Team approaches with their truck, pause to taken in the scene and decide their opening action will be to put the pedal to the metal and ram the sorcerer and his summoning station!!!

I have outlined the scenario to the wife while setting it up and she said "oh, they won't fall for what you have planed, after all this is the Chapter conclusion."  She, as a player held back from contributing to the action plan of the rest....

VAROOM! in the Hurtle at top speed! The opposition is stunned and stand about wondering whats going on!
The truck roars between the portal pillars, inches from running down the sorcerer!

and are transported to another dimension!!! Mahahahahhahahahah  "I told you so".... "oh be quiet!"

Fortuanatly they had their back up team in the next truck and decided to try a different approach with them lol....  When asked about their first team, "well, that's a bonus game for another day" ....;)

That is a nice scenario!  I like the top picture with the truck disappearing into the...UNKNOWN!   :D

'Give them (players) enough rope & they will hang themselves', along with, 'Never over estimate the death wish of the average gamer' Picture the scene, a haunted mansion with inhuman sounds coming from behind the cellar door.
a)(Reality) 'Run for your lives'
b)(Average Gamer) 'Right lets see what's down there, Is that you Chuck?'

The flip side of that is to never underestimate a player's cowardly self-preservation when playing an online shooter game.

"I can't go out there! I might get shot!"

Great find. When it comes to terrain, it really pays to keep your eyes open.
