15mm Motte and Bailey BUA
« on: July 24, 2008, 05:51:35 AM »
I thought I would de-lurk once again to share some photos of my latest completed piece a 15mm Motte and Bailey. It was designed so it can be used as a camp or BUA for DBA.

I finally managed to complete my Motte and Bailey last night after about 6 months, whilst Junior was sleeping and I was waiting for another project to dry.  I'm not sure I'll do it this way in future.

Cheers,

Barry

Once again, very nice. I like that very much.

Do you ever do anything in larger scales, or is 15mm your thing?

Damn, I can't even make 28mm scenery look that nice :)

For those of us who don't do the whole DBA experience, what's a BUA?

Thanks.

As Pedro said, BUA stands for "Built Up Area", an area terrain feature in DBA common among Arable armies. You can model a BUA as a village, town or fortification such as a castle.

Cptain Blood:
Besides making 25mm trees and the occasional larger scale model for other people, I pretty much stick with 15mm, despite the best efforts of the Perry Brothers, Artizan, Gripping Beast, etc.

I did have a brief foray into 6mm sometime ago which was what actually got me interested in scratchbuilding.

It is a very nice BUA! I'll also echo that I can't make 28mm terrain that looks that nice.
