Been painting some Saga figures
« on: June 16, 2014, 04:37:05 PM »
Did these for the Gripping Beastie Boys. A new version of an old figure and a brand newey.

Harold and his brothers.

My few words about them here http://mysticspiralsmonkeybusiness.blogspot.co.uk/
And details of how to get them here http://www.grippingbeast.com/shop.php?CatID=2399

It wasn't me. Honest. This big monkey did it and ran off.

Bold coluors, bright, fast, and smooth transitions, excellent sharp lines everywhere. Works to be proud of, thanks for the inspiration!

These are really quite insanely good. Thanks for sharing.

superb - but this comment hardly does them justice

Thank you all for the kind words.

The reds are just Vallejo Model Colour reds. Scarlet, Flat Red, and Carmine Red.

Mix with yellow to highlight and highlight up to virtually pure yellow.

Use a darker red to shade like Vallejo Red. For super dark areas glaze with a dark umber brown watered down to little more than dirty water.

If you use a dark undercoat build the reds up from Vallejo Cavalry Brown which is a bright reddy-brown that covers really well over black and forms a great base and shade for reds.

Keep your paint thin and use lots of layers to keep it smooth. It takes time but is worth it for the special characters.

J
