Comparison - Tiger Minis and Brigade Games
« on: July 28, 2008, 04:20:36 PM »
All,
Are there any comparison photos or reviews that speak to the above?  I have a small but growing collection of Brigade Games East Africa figures.  I am planning a "Shout at the Devil" type of game rather than pure WWI.  Tiger has  several sets that would work perfectly with my plan, but I am unsure how they match up with the Brigade minis.

Only relevant picture I have, doesn't show the detail too well on the Tiger chaps, though:

Chap in the middle is a Brigade machine gunner, and he's flanked by two Tiger gun crew. The Tiger figures are slightly less impressive sculpts than Brigade, but I think they will work together okay.

Hope that helps a bit, sorry I don't have a better photo.

Thanks. That does help, as what I am basically after is the Askari mountain gun and crew and probably some Herero.

Good luck with the 'Shout at the Devil' thing. It's a great book/film to use as inspiration for gaming adventures. Here's my version of Flynn, Bassy and Mohammed, out for a day's poaching of the Kaiser's elephants:

As in the book Mohammed is meant to be a deserter from the Schutztruppe, and pretty handy with it, I decided not to model my version on Ian Holm.

Now you need to scratch-build the Blücher !  :)

Nice work on the figures. I did my O'Flynn and Oldsmith by doing head swaps from Anglian SCW figures. Rosa is a Brigade "Victoria Hawkes" figure in suitable attire.  I think I'll limit my boat building to the dhows and other smaller craft :)

Thanks. Those are some of my best-painted figures. That's why I post a pic of them whenever anything vaguely connected with "Shout at the Devil" gets mentioned. This isn't the first time they've appeared here*, and it won't be the last.  lol

*It isn't even the second.

I dont have any Brigade figures but I can upload some photos next to Copplestone and Foundry figures. I have a couple of the Askari pack mules, Askari guns and the German command pack from Tiger, and they are very nice (although they dont look very clean unpainted)!

Well, considering what the "League of Extraodinary Kriegspielers" are playing with, that might actually be doable!  For inspiration I'm linking this back to the popular thread posted by Ignatieff on the Back of Beyond Forum, need to click on the photobucket links to the big ship:
