Over the years the swap meet has been very good to me… pirate ships, Duplos (for scratch building),  wheeled vehicles of all types, planes, odds and ends for terrain, HO and O gauge buildings and on and on and on.  I never know what I'm going to find but it's always an adventure.

Wonderful repurposing of those Disney Atlantis toys.  I have some of them, and you've given me ideas !

Thank you.  The Atlantis vehicles really deserve their popularity.  They are great pieces to paint and modify.  I've been very lucky to find all the ones I have found.  Richard

I'm a latecomer to this topic - just read the whole thing at one go. May I echo the superlatives from previous posters and I'd also like to add how I appreciate your unfailingly prompt, informative and courteous response to comments posted here. I would add that the style of your descriptive paragraphs that accompany the photos makes for a highly readable article.

A couple of questions, if I may. First, you refer to your work as "galleries". I infer from the way you describe the projects that the object is to create a gallery to be photographed but that you don't actually use it to game on. Is that correct?

Secondly, what do you use for your ground covering in the town part of the gallery?

Thanks for sharing this inspirational work.

Doug

Doug, thank you for the very kind words.  I'm glad you enjoyed the gallery and took the time to write.  You are correct about the fact that I don't game.  When I began putting my 15mm military collections together more than 30 years ago, I thought I would become a gamer, but that never happened.  But despite the fact that gaming never took hold, my love of the associated hobby has grown stronger over the years and has taken me into the world of Pulp/Adventure/Victorian Gothic… in 25mm/28mm as well as the 15mm /18mm military figures.  The ground cover used is an indoor-outdoor carpet that I purchased about the time that I began painting figures (30 years back).  It came in tan (shown in the Egyptian gallery) and an off-green that can be seen in most of my 15mm military galleries.  It was cheap and not worth much as carpet, but it has been wonderful as ground cover for my figures.  Unfortunately, because it was terrible carpet, it was discontinued years ago.  I was lucky to find it on a close-out sale and bought enough of both colors to cover two 5 ft. x 7 ft board.  Thanks again for writing.  Richard
