More Plastics!
« on: July 31, 2008, 11:12:02 PM »
Looks like we can expect some plastic British Napoleonics shortly, followed by the French.   :-*  They seem to have an ambitious future release list, too, including cavalry and artillery.  Figures are multi-pose, which means lots of variety.  :D  They come 52 to a box, for about £20 ($40) and include standards as well.  Look good, too! Can't wait!

How the market for figures has benn transformed in just a few months.  The real test now is that all these companies can get complete ranges on line quickly and not leave people waiting years to complete armies.

I like the releaso of late/early war figures at the same time.

So how many plastics-producing companies does that give us? Perry, Wargames Factory, Warlord Games, Victrix... wasn't there a company working on WWII plastics as well?

I'll buy a box of anything that gets released in hard plastic (in 28mm), even if none of the periods offered is up my alley. They're good additions to the bitz box, if nothing else. And I could make cheap forays into Sharp Practice and I Ain't Been Shot Mum if I ever get the time.

Valiant do hard plastic WWII, but they are large 20mm rather than 28s.

Yes, this is so unfair: I've still got 4-6 of each of the WWII boxes unpainted, and now this!  It seems my plastic mountain may grow taller than my metal one (give it some time...).  lol

These look great and once again I feel tempted to reach for the wallet, even though this is a period I no longer game in and have had in other scales.

What I'd really like to see is 28mm WW1 Brits, French and Germans in plastic. The current interest in this period is high and there is a new rule set out (WHGW) which needs lots of figs..a niche to exploit methinks.

With the Brits and Germans especially the uniform remained largely unchanged with headgear being main differences between early and later war unforms, or at least nothing a sharp craft knife and needle file couldnt cope with.

Keep the plastics coming lads!

I tend to steer clear of plastics but these latest offerings look excellent!

Just added Roman Legions and Celts on my "Project" list..........oh and Zulu Wars... :)
