Concerning Perth, didn't they also do the Starfleet Wars character figs for awhile? Whomever it was, pricey, but REALLY tempting.

If they do bring back Barsoom, don't hesitate as I did.

Money would be more an issue now, but I could have afforded them then, if with pain.

Really beautiful! Just love that Atlantis line.

Excellent article matey. I had high hopes for a boom in Barsoomian gaming when John Carter was announced. Alas, it was not to be.  :'(

Edits made:  A Barsoom or Venus supplement for IHMN would even be acceptable...

Gracias,

Glenn

Well, we should be getting some more minis eventually. The kickstarter for Tin Man's expansion has been slowed down, but I'm sure they'll finish eventually. Tin Man probably makes the best Tharks anywhere.

Thank you for posting this.  John Carter is my boyhood hero.  I really didn't think the movie was that bad to be panned the way it was.  I am going to hold onto my Barsoom Battle Manual.

I thought it was actually quite solidly decent and fairly faithful (far more so than the Lord of the Rings trilogy  ::) ), though extremely poorly marketed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie but got the impression that the director was out of the Hollywood good books for some reason...can't remember where I read stuff about it. One way to guarantee a failing movie is to be out of the in crowd over there I believe.

I didn't like the feathery flyers or the whole Zodanga walking city thing, but I believed the whole Matai Shang/priests controlling the whole solar system was inspired. It gave a better rationale for transporting between the planets and made gave excellent potential for intrigue and a story arc across sequels. I was so disappointed it was cancelled after waiting years for a John Carter film.

I agree the walking city was silly. They should have just had canals. Great film though a future classic i think. Seemingly disney wanted to drop it as they were negotiating to make Star Wars.

I suspect it may well be a future classics. I wish some proper Barsoom stuff was available in 15mm. I have Peter Pig WW2 but their John Carter range doesnt do it for me, similarly with Martian Empires. I wish Khurasan would dabble with a bit of Barsoom.

Hey DD, picked these up at a show yesterday. Figure they are Hermitage based on your file. Think the one on the middle is a white ape?
