Membership of the S.D.Z.A. Facebook group is growing nicely, so - as an incentive for people to get their mates to join (or members of their club etc) something sexy! When we reach 100 members, I will do a draw - the winner will get one of the first four Limited Run Resin Miniatures, but it will be no ordinary miniature - I will convert your chosen Miniature to your own specifications, and paint it - again to your own specifications. It will be totally a "one off" - there will never be another one (for those who aren't aware of my painting and modelling skills - ask around LoL). So, get weaving - 100 members is not that far away!!!

IF we can get it to 250 by Sunday of this week (so the 10th of August 2014) - The prize draw will be for a PAIR (selected from the four being cast at the moment) of Limited Resin S.D.Z.A. Superhero Dinosaur Zombie Apocalyps? Quite interesting and i don't want to rain on your parade (or be labelled for being anal about it) but are you sure this the right section for that kind of topic?

Aha....i see and i guess you are right.....in a way. But Zombies, Superheroes, Dinosaurs and Apocalyps all seem to me part of a pulp or other heavily fantasized realm that have their own sections. And i presumed that post - war and modern adventures is an essentialy more historical section. But that could well be my mind playing tricks here  8)

The creatures in the world of S.D.Z.A. are created by Science - none of it is strictly "fantasy", though it is fantastical.

It sits in a lot of sections but as cross posting isn't allowed its a bit of a tricky one.

As with virtually any 'adventure' setting, SDZA could fit into a number of boards; Pulp, PA, Future Wars and of course here. Is James Bond a pulp hero, or a Post War/Modern adventurer? He is certainly not really historical (that place would go to Harry Palmer perhaps) and there is an element of fantasy and sci-fi in the movies at least. 7TV is also a grey area in terms of where it should go. As all of these are set somewhere between 1945 and the present, even if it is a present imagined from the past, then they have a place here as far as I'm concerned.

You could argue that a near-future conflict between the U.S. & China, or indeed a Cold War Soviet invasion of Europe is not strictly historical, but as is the case with this and other threads, I try to keep an open and quite broad mind.

Myself and Steve (Silent Invader - The PA board mod) did discuss this when the thread started and we settled on here being slightly more suitable than PA, given the somewhat wide swathe of genres planned for the range... as Brummie says, cross posting is not allowed and we try to keep discussions on a single topic in one place.

 :)

Two more sculpts for "S.D.Z.A. - Superhero Dinosaur Zombie Apocalypse" - these work in progress pictures are of two "Mutts" and are being sculpted for me by Martin Buck.

The "Mutts" are poor souls are those who, through exposure to early versions of the R.D.S. Virus (Reactive De-evolution Syndrome Virus) ended up as twisted fusions of Dinosaur and Human. They are sad and tragic loners, wandering the barrens till they die. But, luckily some are "taken in" by those who feel sorry for them and want to do something to help them in their plight.

Mutts are the first miniatures I've commissioned that are specific to the S.D.Z.A. Background.
