Well, isn't it sauronic, don't you think.  lol

Weird beasties. I'll probably have to get one for 2000AD games, should fit right in.

Those are amazing!

(but is it fair to them to be meeting Lemmy with an autorifle?)

Thanks folks!

@Ockman - Lemmy appears to have wide-appeal. I quite like him popping up every so often ;)

@Westfalia Chris - I reckon they'd fit in nice to 2000AD setting!

With the new Necromunda campaign kicking off tomorrow night, I was under pressure to get my leader finished. Happily I did, and here she is (converted from the old Citadel limited edition Kinky Chaosette):

That caryatid is superbly well done.

I bet it will cause a bit of an outburst in some parts, choppy up Kinky like that!

You really got that conversion just right. Keeps the spirit of the original, but makes it look new at the same time.  :-*

Thanks everyone! The new plastic parts blended pretty well - probably because she's more finely proportioned than many of her late 1980s contemporaries!

@Mason - just one comment about chopping a vintage limited edition figure so far - I can live with that ;)

Sometimes cool things just happen, and when I picked up 6 Trollgrim Spacefarers sculpted by Bob Olley (OOP from Newbold World) for £1.50 each a few months back, a cool thing had just happened!

I've painted up a pair (they're 45mm, but perfectly sized to intimidate my 28mm Rogue Trader figures), and can't wait to get round to the other four.

Awesome. That's the kind of trolls we like around these parts.  ;)

You know you'll need a forcefield bridge for them to call their home, now.

Puns aside, I would never have thought these to be Newbold World. I remember the adverts in Miniature Wargames and thought them to be rather uninspired Flintloque ripoffs back in the (essentially pre-internet, for me) day. Obviously I missed out big on some aspects of that range.

Thanks both!

@Westfalia Chris: I confess I didn't pay too much attention to the range when it was widely available. I know there were a number of other scifi figures (not sculpted by Bob Olley), and some really lovely non-scifi Olley trollgrim. I think there were some interesting things amongst it all!

Blimey!
Never seen them there fellas before!
 :o

I do like an Olley sculpt and reckon that they fit a nice niche for something a little different in your sci-fi universe, very RT in effect.

Top job and thanks for the tip-off on a potential new range to squizz at.

Thanks Mason! I agree, I reckon the trollgrim are a perfect fit for my setting :)

I'm currently playing in a Necromunda campaign using the new Book of Judgement Law & Misrule system. As part of the campaign, you can enter into an alliance with a criminal undertaking - I'm going to ally with a Cold Trader (smuggler of xenos artefacts), meaning I can field him and his bodyguard.

The figures are variously converted from Blood Bowl nurgle, mid-1990s Necromunda and late 1980s Eldar figures.

Hope you like them!
