Saxon church * 12.08.14 Complete! *
« on: August 07, 2014, 05:39:17 AM »
No, not those Saxons but a church in Saxony  :)

I've been asked to make a similar model to the one John Boadle made in 28mm a few years ago, you can see the original here.

The one I'm making is roughly 10mm scale for use with 6mm figures. I'm not using the laser for this one (apart from the window frames) as I do still like making things the old fashioned way  :)

Just a couple of wip shots for now.

When there's a bit more done I'll take some pictures with some figures next to it for scale  :)

cheers

Looks good. Make sure to take pictures of the interiors.

Thanks gents  :)

No interiors I'm afraid, not part of the brief.

Finished the roof construction. I need to fill and texture the walls next, maybe tomorrow...

That's an English penny for scale, about 20mm in diameter

Blurrier piccies than I though, it must be getting late  lol

Painted the building today, only need the windows and doors on it. I'll make a quick start on the base tonight although there's not much going on it apart from a wall and a couple of trees  :)

Nope, just this one I'm afraid, although if the client likes it I might get more to do.

That doesn't say I couldn't be persuaded to do more...  ;)

What are you using to make the windows?

Coffee stirrers or lolly sticks?

Looking excellent James. What is the roof material?

And no "friggin" lasers!!  :o

Still not talking to you  ;D

Cheers Frank  :)

The roof material is (I think) a vacformed styrene sheet that I got from work years ago. I'm sure it's still available though.

I'll be using the laser for the windows but that's it  :)

Brilliant James. Small but perfectly formed.

And - oh look... There's part of our fledgling 10mm Spanish Main collection / shared project...  ;)
